I'm not sure if it's the fact that their dominantly white-cis leadership regularly violates their own code of conduct, that they center allies over people on any other intersection, the way they embrace stereotypes in a cringeworthy way, or the fact that they can't read the room.

Oh man, I feel this so strongly. A while ago, a LwT person told me that trans people were excluding themselves from the org, and I've never gotten over it.

Ugh. I gently called in Kara Swisher for mocking pronoun usage last year on Twitter and she blocked me. They really can't figure it out.

at the 1st LWT summit in 2014, Kara Swisher made a really mean-spirited transphobic joke on stage. I brought it up to the organizers afterwards & they didn't really care

when i first heard of it i remember it being all about how few lesbians there are in tech. yeah, like a quarter of the people i meet aren't cis white lesbians. rare to find another qpoc though, and i'm relatively privileged myself.
