For my non-tech followers, specifically my activist followers, you should know that the entire tech industry has been freaking out for the last 36 hours because pretty much all computers are now totally fucked.

If your threat model is basically the Mossad model you should definitely be concerned. If your threat model is "it will be an inconvenience if I have to get identity theft monitoring" then maybe move along merrily.

I've seen claims from some that Snowden approves of Signal. It may be suspect since theres growing evidence he is a traitor and all. I think
@counterchekist or@20committee would know more? Or am I thinking of other people? -
Use Signal regardless of what Snowden thinks.
-
I suppose so, as there isn't actual proof, but still be on the lookout in case that changes.
-
It's unclear what Snowden has to do with any of this.
-
The claims came to light the same time he announced a new security app of some sort. People immediately claimed that any data it'd protect would actually be more or less collected wholesale for Russia's use, and I think it was designed for big tech companies or something.
-
Ignore Snowden, listen to the infosec community.
-
I will. I only really mentioned it because I happened to remember the claims.

Actually that doesn't address the problem. Best advice for everyone is to patch to most current operating system & install a good ad-blocker. Write up from
