Prior to this, people have been shot by "non-lethal rounds" during swatting attempts. Non-lethal rounds, of course, have an established history of being potentially-lethal.

This event is tragic, and I hope that the people who called in the report are prosecuted for murder, because they're evidently responsible for someone's needless death.

Fuck I'm sorry they chose to do that to you. I hope you don't have any condition like PTSD that was triggered; this is horrible on its own.
-
Actually yeah I do and it was caused by the same people potentially affiliated with those who swatted me. Thankfully I was out of state at the time.

Reading further into the article, the conduct by the SWAT officer who fired his weapon was disgusting. Even the military has higher standards than that.
-
The military has had higher standards for firing a weapon because there are almost always actual consequences if a weapon is fired in a combat area. Police have barely faced consequences for anything for years.
-
It's sickening. If police can't keep their act straight and they want to think they're badass soldiers, they can face the same consequences for inappropriate use of force that actual soldiers do.
