A big issue I have with the "you don't need a CS degree/yes we so" discussion is that it fails to account for the costs of a path through higher ed.

Yeah totally agree. In places like nyc the k12 public school system is becoming resegregated so many have zero shot at college

Dev Boot Camp was an alternate model with real commitment to diversity. Big corp bought it and drove it into the ground.

Coding schools rely on venture capital which assumes they’re a growth industry. But scalable, diversity-promoting education doesn’t really make sense on the growth model

Germany has an apprenticeship model that you should look into. Looked like an excellent program to me, but I haven’t reviewed it recently
