There's been very little coverage of this in US media, so what I've pieced together is from German and French language accounts. But the basic deal is center-right and far-right parties formes a coalition deal a couple days ago.

This deal has given them control over several Ministries, including immigration.

European countries are watching closely. This may serve as a model for other nations to shift hard right. Germany and Northern European countries may be most vulnerable.

A lot of people are also primed to be against it because we had a Coalition like that 15-ish years ago and it turned out to be horseshit. Unsurprisingly.

That's good, but it's still frightening to see how much control over polivy they seem to currently have.

Yeah. If i wasn't in the UK, i'd probably be with those protesters. Black is now more right-wing than it has been back then and the coalition with the fucking Neo Nazi party makes my stomach turn like a blender.

I'm hearing a lot of "but what about AfD?!" but AfD doesn't have nearly this kind or coalition foothold in Germany... yet.

Yeah, FPÖ got WAY more votes. Not surprising, considering i grew up in my village with a guy openly proposing that gassing jews wasn't that bad.

Plus, the FPÖ has been around. It's "legitimate" having been created right after we became independent again (ignore that it's been created by Fascists, right?). The AfD in comparison is... childs play.
