Wes, we want to believe you're a man of your word. But always saying it's "deep" or "a lot of layers" can't be the permanent excuse not to do the right thing. City had four years to help this sister find a humane place to live.

I don’t give a damn about any establishment politics saving me. The people I work for & w/don’t care about it. When I say it’s deep it means that y’all don’t know all of the specifics and I’m not putting her business out on here for a pat on the back.

i’m not sure how demanding accountability from my elected officials constitutes “coming at” them, but i appreciate you letting me know where you stand and have enjoyed both being dismissed & condescended to. this is not how you unite a community that is trying to support you.

support me by coming to the Housing Authority meetings, support the Low Income Housing coalition equity plan. Come and Tutor in the neighborhoods. Come and meet the people, understand the issues, help us solve them, serve on a board. We don’t unite by ->

Brother, this is the type of work we do. And it includes holding y'all feet to the fire. I promised that. But don't ignore that you haven't delivered any accountability for A12. Jones and Thomas and others need to pay a price.

I'm just gonna pop into this thread and say the following: throughout this process, I have given the City government and police *specific* and *actionable* information. It was all accurate and yet it was ignored. One person in City Gov't made an effort to connect with me.

That's a big failure. And we can't keep talking about Principles in abstract until we acknowledge the specific failures that happened and continue to happen.

"What we do next" is all well and good until we honestly sit down and talk about "what we do right now about what happened."

These were my exact words, presented publicly on July 14. I accurately predicted and identified precisely the command and communication issues that Heaphy revealed. ON JULY 14. Specific. Actionable. These must be addressed.pic.twitter.com/tGSGBeMLjT

just like I would do for you. Just like I’m trying to do for you. How is that right? This ain’t about politics for me, so don’t lump me in. Im talking about the community... & we have several communities w/in this city. How is it right?

As a City Councilor, you're not being lumped in because of politics, but because of position. I'm respecting the wishes of the people I'm accountable to and have made honest efforts since June to work towards concrete solutions. At this point it's gonna be a long laundry list.

I may still be willing to go through this process, but at this point I have to consult with my lawyer. That's not a threat, just an emergent reality. I want to heal my community, too.
