The sadly hilarious part of this is that Cantwell himself was surprised and confused that the cops/university weren't doing more about the torchlight rally.

That, the UVA cops' refusals of assistance from other cops, and the chief downplaying it with "no major injuries" nonsense all jumped out at me. I couldn't figure out why cops even bothered to show if they weren't going to do jack shit, & the downplaying pisses me off.

I like how the Nazis are celebrating this. "Look! An ANTIFA might have smacked a dangerous flaming object therefore we were justified gassing the fuck out of people."

Obviously the proportionality of force needs to come into play. Using mass area chemical agents because of a minor scuffle as a self-defense claim is laughable.

Pretty funny that they'd pretend they weren't out for violence given, you know, everything they were saying/doing.

Cantwell admits in this report to accepting a security role because he'd be willing to fight with "Antifa." Video evidence shows he came down the rotunda steps with mace in hand.

Yeah the bit about people on the outsides being chosen for willingness to violence jumped out at me because those were the people who passed closest to where my medic trio was stuck by ourselves on a bench & threatened to kill us.
