But I feel still like had that shot not missed and someone died, I would have been remiss.
In Cville, we had threats, I presented a bunch of them to city officials at various points. I know I did everything I could to warn about violence.
But I feel I could have done more here. :(
I've been dealing with stuff that's literally life and death for 5 months now. It's hard shit.
I have the network and skills to have prevented that Facebook swatting algorithm atrocity. But I didn’t and couldn’t. There’s always something we could have done better if we’d had a tiny bit more info or power, or the situation had been a touch different.
Yes, this! We learn from what we see after our experiences, and we use that to improve future decisions. The world is big and complex, so there will always be new situations that will make us look back and yearn for better from ourselves.
It you learn and strive and help others along, that is enough

It's easy to look back and ask more out of ourselves, and forget everything we were balancing and weighing at the time.
Am so glad you are processing everything now. I was always disturbed how little has been reported/referred to the Friday night torch rally, which appeared to be incredibly violent. Saturday's events overshadowed the precursor.
