The Heaphy review will be coming out in a few weeks. I contributed some to this review, mostly regarding the July 8 KKK rally, so I'm interested to see how the report treats J8 in addition to A12.

I spoke to Heaphy for about an hour and a half. I'd estimate an hour of that was talking about J8, some about A11, and shockingly very little talking about A12. Mostly info that was already public or that I had put on-the-record.

The story of police brutality on July 8 has been somewhat lost in the narrative given the much more violent events of August 11 and 12. But there is still justice that needs to be done there.

There is some sense that Heaphy would be lobbing a softball to Signer and the city government. I didn't get that sense when I spoke to him. I talked in great detail about the MRAP deployment on j8 and he genuinely seemed as angry as me.
