The standard American English trans community has re-litigated the terms it uses for self-id at least 4 times in the past few years. meanwhile, trans women not in America die.

It's not that language doesn't matter. It's that we spend an enormous amount of energy infighting on a matter that only truly affects relatively privileged American trans folks.

And like, even in the US we have bigger immediate issues. The Nazis didn't care whether we wrote trans or trans*. They tried to make me dead either way.
