so everyone who said progressives need to ditch trans rights to win elections saw that a trans woman unseated a pro "bathroom bill" Republican incumbent tonight, right?

I'm just ...emotions. It's a twirl, mkay?
-
A Black transwoman also won another top position so we have that to celebrate as well. Emotions perfectly normal and understood.
-
I'm excited about Andrea Jenkins. I just wish someone who never treated Bobs attacks as *alone* deserving his ouster wouldn't be celebrated like she did.
-
Hey, as a radical queer dude who goes back and forth from activist space to academic work I feel you on this. I get lots of let downs and flak from both communities. Managing it all takes a toll. Anyone not white cis male con has been terrorized by 45. Take what you need for u!
-
1. Are you cis or trans 2. We're not talking about 45, but the horrendous living conditions Bob exacerbated I don't feel were properly addressed
-
I am cis. And if I didn't make it clear, sorry I was connecting 45's anti trans bullshit to Bob's. I acknowledge living that is beyond what I know personally. I also can't expect you to be fine with her overlooking the issue completely. Sorry if I gave that impression.
-
It's a compound thing. I don't like her being praised for "defeating" something she never made an issue. Just let her be the centrist Democrat she ran as.
-
Yes. I was going to post about how trans is a spectrum of diversity of thought as much as any other identity but felt out of my lane on it so didn't. I had the honour of being the support for two trans friends early on. Try to be the best ally I can.
