I never understood how people who want to put limits on free speech think that'll never be used against them.

Well, I understand very well why people who accepted threats and violence as "free speech" are shocked at the idea of a social media ban.
-
The current conservative standard for free speech is roughly this. If I hate it, you can still say it, but only if no one listens to you.pic.twitter.com/uQSeVJqDtI
-
I'd like that to end, and I think that maybe the best way to get rid of that standard is to hold conservatives and libertarians to it.
-
The same as the "free speech absolutists." When those campus activists started chanting, their mouths slammed shut so hard that teeth broke.
-
And then they started screaming in unison: You can't play noise! You can't interrupt and chant! Speech is actually a bad thing to me now!
-
So I'd like to let the right try their own medicine for a bit. Or a less bitter version of it that doesn't involve vehicular manslaughter.

GTFO with your non sequitur BS. "Class warfare" is not genocidal (except as practiced by the rich).

What's crazy is no one points 2 Germany & says "Now there's a totalitarian censorship state right there!" where Nazi speech means jail time
-
yes, people absolutely do say that about Germany falling down that problematic hole. you think it removes Nazis?
-
It keeps them quiet and without a platform it's a lot harder to spread your message.
-
they’ve never been erased. “nazi speech” has existed in America & we all rightfully condemn them. locking them up prevents messaging?
-
Uhm yeah. Incarcerating ppl absolutely makes communication more difficult for those ppl. Right or wrong whens the last time you heard
-
a sermon from an Imam in Gitmo or a speech from an Palestinian freedom fighter jailed in Isreal?

I don't understand "educated" people with internet access who think repeating the mistakes of 1930s apologists will yield different results.
