It’s rare for anarchists to support states of any kind as a civilizational form. Even Marxists only see states as a temporary means to a end

Anarchism for me represents my desires in my lifetime. There is always a governance model of some sort, even in a group of 4 people.
-
And what happens when the city-states have disputes? The history of city polities is filled with bloodshed (mediterranean, aztecs&purepecha)
-
Literally all models are filled with bloodshed. But using the ancient examples wherein resource scarcity and tech development drove war...
-
doesn't necessarily project to a more modern future where we have more established tech/infra and a plateauing global population.
-
I don't imply borders and citizenship when I say "state," either, but rather a contained model that permits rural regions autonomy.
-
People would grow protective of their “resources“. You need a modal to combat a reemergence of private property.

Cities don’t require centralized authority tho. Djene Djeno is an interesting example although it did form in a very different culture
-
That’s just the city part, the state part... I need to look up more in that

I'm personally in favor of arcologies. I won't join you on the anarchism, but I'll do those dense city-states for you.
