It still seems like the candidate would have to quit their current job without a firm offer though but maybe they found ways to de-risk that

We do paid sprints, usually 1-3 days rather than a week. We're flexible on timing, sometimes doing wkend or evening sprints if needed.

It's a lot to ask of candidates, agreed, but also gives us room to hire folks who do well on the job but not on a bs 20min whiteboard task
