US card tech is so outdated that we had a waitress that had never in her life seen the machine spit out a slip for signing.

Oh yeah, everywhere. Contactless cards are getting pretty all-pervasive, but we're a long way from being cashless.

What do you guys use? I've never traveled out of states so I have no idea what the difference is.

we just punch in a pin like yourselves, but a lot of times over there i had to sign a receipt and hand over my card which was new to me.
