I called out this exact scenario the day the protest maps were being drawn.https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/how-charlottesville-lost-control-amid-deadly-protest/2017/08/26/288ffd4a-88f7-11e7-a94f-3139abce39f5_story.html?tid=ss_fb-bottom&utm_term=.056d53d97034 …

At this point I am so fucking sick and tired of being three steps ahead of the city on EVERY. SINGLE. ASPECT. of this event. EVERY ONE.

It was also just a plastic sawhorse style one.
-
Yeah. That's another wtf right there. At one point, they had a crossing guard as the only person controlling an intersection.
-
But the two vehicles that crossed before Fields obviously had an open turn onto 4th NE. Dubious they crashed a barrier or moved it.
-
A cop was positioned at that intersection all morning blocking traffic. Not there on our tape around 12:30.
-
Total malfeasance. They announced a schedule and what hours it would be active. We memorized that. We used that.

It was closed around 12:30 that day. I was on camera with the blockade in the background. Don't know what happened after that though.
-
I've seen timestamped video from around that time, too. We're digging for more evidence between then and the attack.
-
If that barrier was removed to make way for the attack.....
