I wanna talk a little bit vulnerably about this path I've taken this year that led me to this place.

I will visit these sites again, to hold that space in my heart again, to connect with those souls, and hope they know that we fought back.
-
If you end up in Cologne, the place to go here is the ELDE-house, the NS documentation center...
-
The former GeStaPo HQ that the allies managed to miss when they turned Cologne into 95% rubble. >_>
-
The original prison cells in the basement are especially harrowing. And of course the "Stolpersteine" (tripping stones) in front of houses
-
I saw those in Prague and Berlin, too. They're without adequate words to describe them.
-
They're aptly named. You cannot physically trip over them of course... But they still always tripped me up.
-
I have a poster of how my home city Cologne might look in 1000 years from now... I hope the Stolpersteine will still be there.

Topographie des Terrors was chilling. They had a temp Warsaw Uprising when I was there.
