There are going to be a thousand myths about the anti-racist crowd today. Here is the truth:
-
-
- when we got to the point of the turn, we were asked to stop because the request had been either erroneous or canceled.
-
- several people began walking back to downtown because of the dense bottleneck or to clear the streets.
-
- I personally called out "this street is open" and instructed people to use the sidewalk and crosswalk. My images support this.
-
- As we were moving to disperse back to the downtown mall and Justice park, the car hit us.
-
There was no planned occupation of Water St at any time. We were moving to Friendship Court, away from Emancipation Park.
-
We were not going to engage the alt-right. We heard reports of potential harassment, that is all. There was no plan to fight.
-
We heard about a possible 3% group along the way. We agreed to not engage them in any way, but we didn't even see them.
-
I was on record multiple times talking about staying away from the main action. I personally was trying to head away from action.
-
I have been sent an audio recording from the event. I need to check it out but it seems legit.
-
The "self-defense" argument is laughable.
-
There was confusion because the orders changed so suddenly... but we moving and working to clear water st.
