I have over a decade of experience in the aerospace industry and was part of a working group evaluating MIL-A-8870.

I have deep knowledge of aerospace controls and aeroservoelasticity, having worked directly with Wright-Patterson AFB to study...

free-play induced Limit Cycle Oscillations for all-moving tail designs, and designing control algorithms for mitigating LCO response.
-
I also have NASA research credentials studying hot corrosion in nickle-based superalloys for jet engines.
-
This work involved multiple trips to NASA Glenn to present in front of a world-class panel of experts on turbine design and corrosion.
-
Other NASA research credentials include designing constrained Kalman filter approaches to detect sensor and actuator failures in-flight.

This technology could have saved, for instance, Air France 447.
-
I studied Aeronautical Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the oldest engineering school in the English-speaking world.

Tell me again about my ZERO experience in aerospace,
@GlobalBWP -
Oh, I also have logged flight hours and have actually landed an airplane as pilot in command.

aeronautical engineer, or aerospace engineer? Skeptical brain is getting more skeptical.
-
Both. The degree program at RPI when I was there (2000-2004) was "Aeronautical Engineering." In my career, this was more broadly "aerospace"
-
fair enough! in my foray through multiple engineering schools, I never heard it referred to as anything but Aerospace.

If you doubt me, here's the excerpt from the 2003-2004 catalog: http://www.rpi.edu/academics/catalog/pdf03-04/Engineering.pdf …pic.twitter.com/sfec5sFKfn

No, it makes sense when you denote the timeline. Though it seems you could be doing more with that than fighting trolls on twitter.
-
I just dug into it, RPI still calls it "Aeronautical"!!! http://catalog.rpi.edu/content.php?catoid=15&navoid=348 …
