I disagree with that implication. Trans people need to be afforded full rights, even fucked up problematic ones.

"Denying trans people rights" is hardly an incremental step towards dismantling the system.

And I do have a problem with saying that serving in the military should be a right. Just because cis people are still allowed to do it.

I'm saying, recognise it as an attack on trans rights without also defending the US military, it's not impossible.
