For direct action to be most effective, it must: - have a clear ask - with someone held accountable - and noncompliance must be costlier
-
-
Imagine, say, if a well-stocked group shut down the Capital Beltway with a clear goal of reversing the travel ban.
-
Or if a state like California stonewalled the federal government until ambassadors were appointed. Just hypotheticals.
-
Not advocating these things specifically. Just meaning to demonstrate how direct action can be focused to effectiveness.
-
One way *not* to measure the effectiveness of direct action is by it's impact on the center.
-
Look, if the tactics of leftists can move you to the side of racists, you were always just kind of a racist and I dunno what to tell ya.
-
Also like, who are you to criticize tactics? Did you learn them from an extensive history of not organizing?
-
I want to "what color is the boathouse at Hereford" every single center-leftist that tries taking lead on their very first action.

Honestly there's a lot of issues and bleedover from the Occupy movement still, which was just so ineffective.
-
People have forgotten the effectiveness of movements e.g. the Civil Rights movement where strikes, stoppages, and blocks were key to results
