As I fly to a country where I don't speak a single word of the language, I reflect on the huge privilege of being a native English speaker.

Try using your German nouns and add an -ur to the end. E.g. Hundur means dog.

I have like maybe 30 German nouns and 25 of them are food.

I think about this constantly, especially with people here without good English. Starting to have more sentences pieced together slowly

But if someone dropped like me into the middle of the US with no English, how shitty that exp must be :(
