I can speak enough German to survive, but I'm traveling through Iceland and if you had a gun to my head I couldn't come up with even 1 word.

And it doesn't even matter at all, because I know everyone I interact with will speak English, which is an absurd language.

It depends. Non-English speakers usually speaks more than one language. THAT is a privilege.

Speaking more than one language and still being able to speak your native language everywhere is an even bigger privilege.
