Can we talk about how people with six figure incomes somehow believe they're not rich?

If I lose my job I have to sell my house and move or pray for remote work. There are no opportunities here.
-
Like, I’m not denying that there is substantively less opportunity in C’ville and other places. I migrated here from Tampa for that reason.

have you ever been to the city it *really* is not what you're implying here
-
the majority of people in sf are fucked economically education is abnormally expensive too
-
legitimately the only favorable job market is programming and it is equally accessible to people outside the city
-
That's what I'm saying. SF might be inflated but the ability to even get a sublet there is a wealth marker.
-
Because of that accessibility, living in SF is largely a choice granted by wealth. You can choose to scrape by on $150k there or...
-
take a paycut and be even more wealthy elsewhere. But not everyone gets that choice.
-
I’ll own up to having decent upper middle class privilege for sure, but I’m just barely grasping to it with a long fall if I slip.
-
Just like every other working stiff in this country.
