The equality of all people isn't a viewpoint either. It's a codified moral built into many international agreements.

Morality can change but in our era our world has chosen human dignity as inalienable. It's defense is therefore absolute.

"Who decides what is right?" isn't a gotcha. It's easy to answer. Jesus it's not that complicated.

There are no mental gymnastics you can go through to make 'actually, owning people was OK' fit within our moral framework.

And if you're hedging on, 'yeah but what if our society's morals change so that owning people *IS* ok,' then go stroke your IQ elsewhere.

Inaction will lead to death and violence. Inaction in the name of absolutist commitment to non-violence will lead to violence.
