I'm gonna make a short urban survival thread on what to do if you find yourself surviving and fleeing an incident in an unfamiliar area.

First thing, get away. Walk or run in *any direction* away from the incident. It's ok if you get lost. We'll re-orient.

Don't worry about "shady" areas. 1000 cops are about to swarm the place, no one's gonna try to hold you up. They're scared/curious, too.

After you get a safe distance away, assuming you don't need medical aid, reorient yourself. At this point, cell networks will be saturated.

Look at buildings for TV satellite dishes. Look on balconies and roofs. If you're in the northern hemisphere, they always point south.

Using that orientation, you can now seek transit stations or bus stops, anything that can orient you with a local map.

Trains/buses/taxis will be likely shut down but now you'll know where you are and will be safe. Now you can try calling out.

Using your train station/bus stop as a home base, you can look for hotels, shops, cafes, whatever that can provide comfort.

Avoid gathering in other major areas--secondary attacks are known tactics. Instead, you're 100x better off at a hotel several blocks away.

Also you'll want to get on wifi to send safety messages/arrange pickup. Again, expect cell network saturation.

And in the event you find yourself able to get on a bus/train/taxi, don't worry about the fare. They're all gonna help willingly.
