250k seems p normal to me tuition has always been a class dividing thing for my age group

It was possible to get a quality (public) college education for <$20k total when I was in school. RPI for me was ~$29k/year when I was there

when i was at ut nominal semester tuition was 4-5k depending on department and actual cost was more like 5-5.5k total was usually >45k

Housing, admittedly, adds a fuckload to the quoted cost. And off-campus housing in Troy is wayyyyy cheaper.

True, but also Troy is extremely economically depressed, so it's hard to beat those housing prices.
