These are all skills people need to advance in their careers. And not every method works well for every person.

So the more talks that discuss how to mentor, encourage, promote, etc., the more tools I develop for doing my actual job.

And the more I hear about struggles of other devs, the more I recognize my own weaknesses that creep in: e.g. knowing when to ask for help.
