That's weird because I wasn't kidding about the phone helpdesk misgendering thing, and that's a) relatively smalltime and b) hard to win.

To be frank, I started the private admin practice because I felt the big guys weren't doing enough, so I do see your point.

Rights are only as meaningful as their ability to be secured. And when we delegate things to "small time" we lose what matters.

Being banned from an important local business by a prominent local business owner may be small time, but for me I lost friends over it.

I couldn't go to charity events at the space. I lost a connection to a huge community.

So preach all you want about "technically the rights still exist." No one was there to protect them. There's not enough resources to.
