I don't even believe it's malice. It's simply ignorance, in the "not knowing" sense of the word. And it adds up and adds up and adds up.

Individually, we can dismiss these things. But we have to take them together, because people are literally dying from this buildup of rage.

I thought I had found one that seemed reasonable, lives nearby, pass by their house on the way to the supermarket. You know, local.

Until one day I walk past, mom with young boy in the driveway, boy comments about how my clothes look 'stupid'. Mom does not correct him.

It's hundreds of those things, little things, showing how thin the veneer of civilisation is, how ridiculous 'letting it die out' etc. is.

Because it seeps through, from one generation to the next, seeding new fields for when the right sort of rain arrives once more.
