I want to believe that people's hatred can diminish if only they knew real trans people in their lives.

I don't know but we can't sit quiet. The quieter we are, the more they think their hate is okay. Knowing the root of their hate might help.

i think that people who desert trans folks still don't actually know trans folks. they're choosing to stay in their isolation by dumping us.
-
the only way out for those people is to meet a trans person /they don't realize is trans/, get to know them, and /then/ learn abt transness.
-
because a trans person pretending to be cis isn't really a learning experience for the cis person -- nobody is living their transness there.

If someone's hate is not a function of isolation/ignorance/fear, perhaps it's innate, in which case engaging at all is depressingly futile

I'm not sure you can. Just try to outlive them.

Sometimes you can't change a specific person's mind. Instead, I think about living my life as an example to others.

All hatred is self-hatred. All hatred stems from envy, and with trans it comes from people too wedded to yesterday's gender rules.
