I bumped up IntelliJ to 16 pt and I'm the only one on my team who did as far as I can tell.

exactly! realizing i don't have to strain to se what's going on, distinguish names, etc. is great

also, i appreciate a little bit of positive pressure to try to be concise in my own code when possible

I was just working on some dashboards w/ppl and they all wanted to make the font smaller - but 'too small' is most frequent complaint i hear

there are a lot of us who'd rather fit less on the screen but be able to see it vs optimizing every pixel then not being able to read lol

i wonder how many send back the settings changes so they can see how their product is actually being used

Yeah! Apps could easily do this and so often don't. I'd ask: "Do ppl change these defaults? Should we make them different?" No one knew.
