Ok, yeah, they're asking you to do it via limits. Generally, (x+a)^n = sum_{i=0}^n n Choose i x^{n-i} a^i n Choose i = n!/(i! * (n-i)!)

So for this you'll get (x+dx)^13 = x^13 + 13!/(1! 12!) x^12 h + 13!/(2! 11!) x^11 h^2 + ... + 13!/(12! 1!) x^1 dx^12 + dx^13
