Here's how you disable an airfield: - crater the runway and taxiways - destroy fuel depots and service points - destroy any hangars

-
- crater the pad and destroy any assets parked there - disable access roads and service roads - destroy the control tower and radar sites
-
That's it. That's not a big airfield. I don't count 50.

This airfield has no major hangars. No massive pad to house bombers.https://twitter.com/EmilyGorcenski/status/850160004892041216 …

I count 19 hangars capable of holding 2-3 jets each. 2 runways to crater. Plus fuel depots. So... I guess maayyybbbe 50.

The recently developed Joint Multi-Effects Warhead System gives Tomahawks bunker-busting capabilities. I don't know if it's deployed.
-
But 50-60 still sounds like a LOT to disable a relatively minor airfield.

I don't suppose the $1m+ per missile cash flow to arms industry could have had anything to do with it?

Do you think they gave heads up to Russia so they had a chance to evacuate personnel?

Isn't really overkill, particularly if you're dealing with hardened aircraft shelters that have to be hit twice.
