It will maybe be a surprise to those generations that there was effectively a single root cause for failures on every front: racism.

Yes. While I think class is a big issue, racism is the core. Redistricting rarely cuts out large white blocks, for example.

Class mobility is way easier for a white person than a POC. My wife and I changed classes in a way I rarely see among POC.

It is hard. It requires a lot of listening and a lot of trust in people when they speak. It took me years to get that.
