It's the Summer of 2001 and I'm a misguided 19 year old, and I find myself attending a concert in Mansfield, Massachusetts.
-
-
"I can't hear you! I said, is the south gonna rise again???" "WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" yells the crowd from Massachusetts.
-
Now, sonething you need to understand about Ted Nugent is he's a big sobriety advocate. The crowd is going wild. The flag is waving.
-
"BULLSHIT" he says abruptly. "Not if y'all are drunk." At that, dear followers, is how the Confederacy in Massachusetts ended.
-
The crowd deflated. And I swear to god the pool skimmer de-telescoped. I never saw that flag again. I dunno if he even brought it home.
-
Anyhow, the rest of the show was about what you expected. Here's Ted's setlist from the show.http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/ted-nugent/2001/tweeter-center-mansfield-ma-13c4dd31.html …
-
(Note: he owned the crowd so hard no one wrote his setlist down)
-
Addendum: I wore a Skynyrd t-shirt to that concert, which is not only a fashion faux pas, but I also bought it at previous Skynyrd show.
-
this was a quality thread.

You probably know this, but Ted was in error in calling that flag the "stars and bars" which is a different flag.
-
I'm pedantic enough I can't help pointing it out. Good story.
