Trans women know that debating our humanity and existence doesn't work. We've done it so many times.
-
-
-
We've bookmarked all the essays, all the blogposts, that carefully deconstruct gender myths and make it accessible.
-
We do battle with right wing conservatives, with TERFs, and with mild-mannered PTA folks encountering trans kids for the first time.
-
It doesn't work because calling a trans woman "he" is still a fast track to a TV appearance and a book deal.
-
So to hell with debate. Transphobes don't deserve that emotional energy expenditure.

Sure. - gender dysphoria is well understood and kmown to lead to depression & suicidal ideation
-
- gender dysphoria has well known triggers - depression is known to lead to loss of productivity, which can equate to lost $$$
-
- Transphobes deliberately step on gender dysphoria triggers to incite depression and ideation to create material harm by proxy
-
- violence is the deliberate creation of material harm, not just corporeal damage.

Violence accomplishes nothing except to give Milo critics more ammunition. I imagine you were being hyperbolic, but still.
-
Violence protects trans women from violence every day. Every day. It only helps Milo if trans lives aren't worth saving.
-
I may be misunderstanding the context. I am undercaffeinated. Let me catch up on the tweet train, sorry if I spoke too soon.
-
Just to confirm, you're saying that 'go fuck yourself' and physically assaulting a person with a disgusting view is right?
-
I'm saying self defense is justified and that Milo isn't espousing abstract political opinions, but actually targeting people
-
Milo's actions get wallpapered over as political opinions, but they aren't. It's window dressing for him to hurt ppl for fun.
-
ofc I don't believe in violence to suppress political opinions, but he's not delivering political opinions. He's attacking ppl
-
And yes, going on Natl TV and deliberately calling a trans woman "he" is an act of deliberate harm.
