One of the most enjoyable challenges of my job is figuring out how to present journal clubs as a remote employee.

have you tried any of the online whiteboard things and found them lacking? Collab. tools always interesting to me
-
the problem is that with math stuff, you really need to have as few limitations with drawing, etc. as possible.
-
This is why mathematicians still use chalkboards and not whiteboards, for instance.
-
I had not heard about that; will google it! We do a lot of whiteboarding in aerospace but the math is usu. simple
-
the easiest way to piss off a mathematician is to leave a dead whiteboard marker around.
-
easiest way to do that to an aero. engineer is ask "why don't you just [ignore thermodynamics or gravity itself]"
-
oh god the memories are coming back

will you share the secret?!???
-
I think it's just trying to anticipate questions and structuring demos to make code accessible and easy to tweak
-
so prepping whiteboard work ahead of time so you display digitally as needed, if a question comes up? makes sense

-
Yep. Sometimes I'll do stuff like put in some code and pre-comment it out for an illustrative example if a question comes up or so
-
makes sense. thank you for sharing.
