@EmilyGorcenski actually belongs to Emily Gorcenski, and not someone pretending to be you. -
It also unlocks certain features, including a tab that filters notifications only from other verified users.

A verified account is no different than any other account, other than the additional steps to prove to Twitter who you are.

I have already explained once, and I will explain again: it opens features to make it easier to connect with other verified users.
