Without those satellites, remote drone piloting can't be done. Cruise missile targeting can't be done. And that's even considering GPS.

Those satellites are highly vulnerable. Their delta-V stores are needed for orbital maintenance.

But they're very hard to get to... only China, Russia, and the ESA can reasonable send satellites into GEO.

We've known for a while now that any large scale conflict would spread into space, if not start there. But now we're basically immune.
