I love the language employed here. Also I can't believe I've never made a Twitter thread recursive.https://twitter.com/emilygorcenski/status/706102127546994688 …

The technical aspect of social engineering in teams is, perhaps, lost in light of the obvious degree of artistry involved.

What makes something technical? Any thing in the set of software topics is also in the set of technical topics? Also true for hardware?

Teaching use of a breadboard is a technical talk, teaching building a Lego Death Star or cooking a damn good schnitzel isn't.

Can someone define what "soft" or "non technical" means? Particularly one of y'all who feel like you have no alternative but this language.

@emma_Gras I always use "soft" to define the things that don't necessarily compile or ship, but w/o which the product can't sustainably run

@emma_Gras with the note that this is decidedly technical -- documentation, planning, CAPA, etc. are all highly technical at times

@emma_Gras in terms of being "soft skills?" Idk. Both technical, depends on context /shrug

@emma_Gras Like, diagramming a state machine for UML or such, def. hard skill. Doing it to make documentation awesomer, bit of both mayhaps?
