Look, the modern alt-right saw the failures of WN 1.0 and WN 1.5 and the bad optics of the skinhead movements and cleaned themselves up. Richard Spencer became the dapper white nationalist. Hate groups know to clean up.

Just because today's transphobic feminists are wearing sundresses and flats and have bangs instead of shaved heads and camo pants and docs doesn't mean anything. Like anything, they've appropriated the mainstream, understanding that our culture has a stereotype for hate.

When you pressure a movement by emphasizing its hate, it starts to fracture and splinter. Some part of that movement *will* go further into hate. We're already seeing transitions to anti-semitism in the corners of these communities.

But the other part will simply spiral out, or attempt to form some more watered down spinoffs, or abandon it entirely. That's the point. To prevent it from reaching critical mainstream mass, where it is harder to fight.

Being a union member or a Labor Party official doesn’t magically prevent someone from being a white supremacist. Plenty of them in there. They just mask their white supremacy behind the norms of polite white society so that no one will have the guts to kick them out.
