Even the doxing campaigns have been not very effective. They don’t hide, and they don’t seem to be impacted very much, unlike those distantly connected to Nazi groups.

The most dangerous conclusion is that the Proud Boys are a creation of the GOP to set a narrative against the left. This could also be the most effective angle against them, because using them to expose the GOP would likely mean cutting off their support.

Internal Proud Boy chats have very little discussion by way of talk about race in the way that Nazi chats do. When you read neo-Nazi chats, they talk convoluted bullshit race theory for hours. Proud Boys don’t give a fuck, they just wanna beat the shit out of and trigger the libs

The Proud Boys are white supremacist by action, but they have so far effectively dodged the associations by ideology that have been damaging to the Nazis. And the ease at which they’re dodging this surprises me.
