Really funny how so many self-styled communists here seem to have no actual community around them.

It doesn’t have to be your friend showing up in court for you to show up to court support.

This seems a little unfair? I don't know, I see a lot of people who aren't even especially into communism talking casuslly about the kind of communities they'd like. It's just really hard, more so because the current setup actively discourages them

I think that's the point she's making, though--that the people who take the hardest line and make a show of being communist are generally not the ones who are good at community-building. The ones who aren't especially into it are likely better because they have diverse concerns.

Ah, yeah, that makes sense. Thanks! I've definitely seen people get so into Internet Yelling that their friends have to back off a bit, and it doesn't help anyone.

I feel this way about a lot of the pseudo-progressive “activists” in the Bay Area. Ask them what their solutions *that can actually happen* are and they’ve got nothing. Worse, they tear down non-perfect progress. They’re obsessed with rebellions, not solutions.
