I think my biggest culture shock in moving to Berlin has been life without a car. Like, running errands to do normal shit is going to require multiple trips back and forth. And honestly I don’t know that it’ll take me any more time, but definitely more energy.

also since you're in Berlin car2go is also pretty convenient, last time I was in Mitte there were shit tons of car shares I saw here and there -- might be worth checking out

Have you tried using a Paketstation near you? Still a bit of back and forth if it's a lot of things but a much shorter trip.

I'm too poor to own a car so I got a scooter so I can get around without burning yoo much energy by walking/biking. A good cheap one costs as much as a used car though, about 1,200 dollars. You don't need a liscence for a 50cc in the US, not sure about Germany.

Maybe it's time you invest in a sizeable backpack? Most of the things you listed aren't too bulky by themselves and you don't need the boxes unless you want a refund outside warranty (contrary to popular belief, the 2 yr warranty doesn't require you to keep the original boxes).

I've found that a 40l backpack is great for this type of stuff

Are you signed up with DriveNow or Car2Go? They’re pricey but many people i know use them for those kinds of trips. The larger ones can hold big flat pack furniture and other stuff

I mean there are advantages to public transportation, you don't have to pay for gas, pay for insurance, pay taxes, emissions tests... etc etc. Plus it's probably healthier in the long term and also better for the environment The versatility of cars is unmatched tho, i'll admit
