We actually should be absolutely fucking concerned when cops obtain search warrants for people they murder in their own homes without reason, actually.https://twitter.com/DeadStateTweets/status/1040645607092715520 …

If they’d found a giant pentagram for some kind of summoning spell, and Amber Guyger’s likeness was carved into the middle of it — that would be relevant. In a world where HP Lovecraft was non-fiction. Pot, not so much.

I'm trying to work out if there's some possible "search the crime scene" justification they used for it, or if it was a blatant No Angel endrun.
-
Well, let’s suspend all reason and take the chairitable view, Searching the scene is essential. For example, what if they found evidence that the two were ex-lovers? Or that the elctricity had been sabotaged so that she had a plausible reason to claim she couldn’t see him?
-
Again, supending disbelief furiously, the police would get a warrant, and then everything they found would be catalogued. They question would then be, do reporters automatically have access to this evidence? Is it brought up in disclosure, filed as an exhibit?
-
Or was it leaked? Was it trotted out at a press conference? I’d say that searching the place is neutral, but how whatever they found was handled after the fact is the story. That and the propaganda arm of the American Nazi Party, aka Fox News.
-
That they didn't even pretend to search the perpetrator's apartment for the purposes of the leak says a lot to me about the motivation of the cops at least, but I really want to know how the warrant came to be.

was a search warrant obtained? Since it was a crime scene, couldn't they examine the entire house as is, for clues to the crime? Of which, finding weed and publishing it to smear the deceased has no purpose obviously except to justify police murder.

The fact is that there is nothing they could find that would make it ok, she was off duty and had no warrant , she had no business in that apartment.
