Both things are a problem. The “ex post facto obtaining a search warrant” thing is terrifyingly fascistic.

We shouldn’t even be having the weed conversation because the POLICE ARE SEARCHING THE VICTIMS HOUSE WHY IS THIS NOT THE THING YOU ALL ARE SHOUTING ABOUT
Show this thread -
The “it doesn’t matter if he had weed” argument is true, but the fact that *that* is the conversation suggests that there *is* something they could have found that would have made it ok

There was no cause for the warrant, no one should care whether they found pot or not, everyone should care that they searched the murder victim's house. I still think they went in with pot to plant, though, because the media loves hearing dead Black guys "are no angels."

It's so strange to me why they'd protect this person. Like Ive had jobs where incompetent coworkers fucked up and we were all glad to be rid of them.
-
Actually now that I think about it it's perfectly clear why they protect each other. It's because they're all corrupt, and they don't want someone ratting them out.

I sometimes feel like they're abusing their authority with the hope of retaliation so the state can just declare martial law.

This is a murder scene too. I don't fault police for getting a warrant to search the residence that was the scene of the murder. I blame them for the targeted release of bullshit non-evidence to purposefully smear the victim.

Go find the warrant, I didn't find a good link, but I did find the text from the warrant -- it was issued against the OFFICER because the officer is suspected of being high and the department wants to be able to use the 'impaired' defense to aquit

I am absolutely concerned, outraged for this. I am not sure what irks me more, the cops planted weed, or the fact that anyone still thinks a little bit of weed warrants a summary death penalty.
