I know people get pissed about the ACLU defending bigots but they sorta have to once and a while to guarantee there's some legals precedent. Almost all the time they defend marginalized people instead but it doesn't get national news.

They don’t, actually, most of the money they spend on bigots is on issues that are black letter law, and those bigots often jump the queue to get served, whereas marginalized people’s issues aren’t settled law and they aren’t represented until the matters are no longer relevant

I could find literally hundreds of lawsuits they've won or settled defending marginalized people. You can claim that's not relevant or good enough but I disagree.
