No, it's not. The issue is TERFs have organised mass reporting groups, and they're actively searching for anything actionable that can be linked to these groups and reported. No algorithm is picking up tweets from years ago and suspending folks, that's TERFs digging for it.

Personally, I talk about TERFs all the time, and say things like "TERFs are the worst" constantly. I've never been suspended or had my account limited even once. This tells me that the word itself is not limited, it's other keywords that are being picked up when reported.

It works because they're reporting tweets for "promoting violence" and twitter's automated system is acting upon certain words regardless of context, hence we see folks suspended for stuff like this: https://twitter.com/PatchworkDino/status/1031430747717021696?s=19 …

It doesn't seem to banned algorithmically , but pretty much any tweet using it in a negative context such as 'f-t*rfs' seems to get the poster put in twitter jail when reported. Even very old ones.
-
You're right, they essentially just treat TERFs as a protected class as of late, so users face punishment for directing 'hateful' speech towards them. A lot of transphobes are searching for old tweets and reporting them for that reason.

I posted it yesterday in an unflattering light (as one should) to see if a cis person would get sanctioned and so far, nope, but that could be a function of my tiny follower count as well.
Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
