Going to Mastadon won't fix the problems of Twitter, because Twitter's benefits and drawbacks have little to do with the platform's actual features.

actually most mastodon instances just straight up ban nazis and it has content warnings and toot-specific privacy settings, most of the problems of twitter are solved over there because it's run by people who care about solving them

these aren't particularly technical things, they're social solutions to social problems. Twitter's problems aren't some sort of immutable property of humans

That’s... the point of this thread. But I disagree on the effectiveness at Mastodon to handle its problems at scale, which it’s technology makes harder, not easier
